What is iCall?

iCall is a computer program that runs on your Microsoft Windows® computer or mobile device such as an Apple iPhone®.

iCall looks and feels just like a regular phone, but instead of using a phone line, it uses your Internet connection. With iCall you can call any mobile or landline telephone and receive telephone calls from any mobile or landline telephone.

iCall is a free download for all supported devices.

How does iCall work?

iCall uses voice over IP (VoIP) technology which uses your existing high speed Internet connection instead of a phone line to transport the two-way audio of a telephone call. By using the Internet instead of your telephone line you bypass your telephone company and save money!

Virtually any high speed Internet connection will work with iCall, examples of the types of connections that work with iCall are:

  • Cable Modem
  • DSL
  • 3G Networks
  • Fiber optic networks (FIOS)
  • Office LAN/Ethernet

Is iCall really free?

Yes! iCall offers a variety of versions of our VoIP software, but the entry level "iCall Free Calling" product allows you to make and receive phone calls at no cost.

No credit card or payment of any type is required. In exchange for free calling you agree to listen to a brief 5-10 second advertisement before each call. We also hope that you will use the advertisers who pay to be included in our directory.

If you prefer not to hear a brief ad before each call, you can purchase iCall Total Access which provides ad free calling for a very low monthly fee.
